Two supermarket giants Aldi and Tesco have both sent out an urgent warning to those who have bought their fruit and veg.<br />
<br />
The retailers are urging people to take extra precautions and wash any fruit and veg before consuming it, Over fears it may have been contaminated by a Saharan desert dust cloud.<br />

Now Tesco reports the dust has affected some of its Spanish crops. It has posted a notice on its website urging visitors to wash produce before eating.<br />

It acknowledged: "as a result recent winds from the Sahara Desert, number of dust has settled on our Spanish crops. Please ensure you wash your fruit and veg products before enjoying. Signs are also spotted in Aldi stores, claiming: "Please give your veg a strong rinse. Due to recent winds the Sahara Desert, hardly any dust may have settled in some of our packs.<br />

The dust cloud moved across western world in mid March. People submitted glowing orange skies.<br />
<br />
The mass of hot air and orange hue was strongest in Murcia and Madrid with images taken from the streets below showing the eerie phenomenon illuminating the skies. Spanish officials warned the public to wear face masks while outside and to stay indoors as long as possible.
